Trail X Trail LLC builds off‑road mapping tools. This page explains privacy practices and key service policies including subscriptions, refunds, license, and acceptable use. It applies to our mobile apps and our website at trailxtrail.com.

What Trail X Trail is

• Offline base maps and tools for planning, recording, and sharing rides.
• Ability for users to create waypoints, record tracks, and optionally share track packs.

We do not provide tracks. Tracks and POIs are shared by riders and may be incomplete, inaccurate, restricted, or unsafe. Always verify locally and follow applicable laws.

Data we collect

You can manage permissions in system settings. Disabling Location limits functionality.

How we use data

• Provide core features (positioning, routing, waypoints, offline maps, track recording).
• Process purchases and manage entitlements for Pro features.
• Improve reliability and performance via diagnostics and analytics.
• Communicate about updates, safety tips, and account issues.
• Prevent fraud and misuse; enforce our Terms and policies.

Subscriptions, payments, and refunds

• Where payments occur. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your billing relationship is with the respective store.
• Auto‑renewal. Subscriptions renew until canceled. Manage/cancel anytime in your app store account settings.
• Trials. If a free trial is offered, you may be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel beforehand.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by the app stores under their policies. You can request a refund via your store account.
• Receipts & taxes. Receipts and applicable taxes are handled by the stores.
• Entitlements. We use a subscription service to verify purchases and enable features across your devices signed in with the same store account.

License and acceptable use

• Personal, limited license. We grant you a revocable, non‑transferable license to use the apps and maps for your personal use.
• No account sharing. Accounts are for a single user who controls the registered email/store account. Do not share, sell, or rent access.
• No piracy or unauthorized distribution. Do not copy, extract, mirror, resell, or redistribute the apps, map data, or any part of the service.
• No reverse engineering or scraping. Do not attempt to access private APIs, decompile, or scrape content.
• Lawful use. Obey all land access rules, closures, and applicable laws. You are responsible for your decisions and vehicle operation.

User content and map data

• You retain rights to tracks, waypoints, notes, and media you create.
• If you share content (e.g., public track packs), you grant Trail X Trail a worldwide, non‑exclusive license to host, display, and distribute that content within the service.
• You must have rights to content you share and avoid infringing others’ rights or posting unsafe/illegal guidance.
• We may moderate, remove, or restrict content that violates laws or our policies.
• Map and trail information may contain errors and change without notice. Always verify conditions locally.

Safety and risk

Trail X Trail is a navigational aid only. Conditions, access, and regulations can change quickly. No warranties or guarantees are provided regarding accuracy, availability, or suitability. Always ride within your limits and prepare for emergencies.

Vendors and partners

• App stores (Apple, Google) manage purchases, receipts, and refunds.
• Subscription management (e.g., RevenueCat) verifies entitlements using identifiers from your app store account.
• Crash/analytics tools help resolve issues and understand usage at a high level. We do not sell personal data.

We share data with vendors only to operate the service under strict agreements.

Your choices and controls

• Permissions — Manage Location/Photos/Notifications in device settings.
• Account data — Request a copy or deletion: support@trailxtrail.com.
• Your content — Export or delete tracks and waypoints in the app.
• Marketing — Opt out of non‑essential emails via unsubscribe links.

Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Diagnostics and analytics are retained for limited operational windows. If you request deletion, we delete or anonymize data not required for legal, security, or billing reasons.

Security

We use industry‑standard protections for data in transit and at rest. No method is fully secure. If a security issue affects you, we will notify you and take steps to help protect your information.

Children

Trail X Trail is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If a child provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

We operate in the United States. If you use the service from other regions, you consent to processing and storage in the United States where laws may differ from your home jurisdiction.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to data portability or objection.

Do Not Track and cookies

Browsers may send a Do Not Track signal; due to a lack of common standards, the service does not respond to these signals. You can control cookies/analytics using device and browser settings.

Copyright & DMCA

If you believe content in the service infringes your copyright, notify us at support@trailxtrail.com with sufficient details to locate and assess the material. We may remove or restrict access where appropriate.

Changes to this page

We may update these terms and privacy details as our products or laws change. We will post updates here and adjust the effective date. For material changes, we may also notify you in‑app or by email.
